Submit your research for the EFLM Award for Excellence in Outcomes Research

LabMed members are invited to submit their research demonstrating the impact of laboratory testing on patient care, healthcare outcomes or the use of laboratory data for the EFLM Award for Excellence in Outcomes Research in Laboratory Medicine, sponsored by Abbott Diagnostics.

The award recognises published research that shows the impact laboratory medicine  have beyond the test itself, including work demonstrating improved clinical or economic outcomes or better use of laboratory and test data.

For researchers, it is an opportunity to have your work considered by an independent panel of experts and gain recognition for research that demonstrates a clear contribution to laboratory medicine.

The winning first author will receive a €5,000 award and certificate, with the award presented during EuroLabMed27 in London, 16 - 20 May 2027 organised jointly by IFCC and EFLM in collaboration with LabMed.

Is your research eligible?

The award is open to first authors who are members of an EFLM Full Member National Society or Association. Eligible research must have been published, or accepted for publication, between 1 July 2025 and 31 October 2026 in an English-language, peer-reviewed medical, scientific or health economics journal.

Only original research is eligible, and all authors must agree to the submission.

Applications close on 31 October 2026.
