IFCC Task Force on Outcome Studies in Laboratory Medicine (TF-OSLM)

Submit research exploring how laboratory tests and laboratory information influence patient management and clinical outcomes.

LabMed members are invited to submit research proposals on exploring how laboratory testing can influence patient care and healthcare outcomes.

The funding supports studies that evaluate the clinical effectiveness and impact of new or commonly used laboratory tests and laboratory information in clinical practice. Proposals should make a clear link between laboratory testing, patient management and changes or improvements in clinical outcomes.

Objectives

  • To promote directed research evaluating the role of laboratory medicine on clinical outcomes
  • To build awareness and understanding with regards to the critical role laboratory medicine plays in healthcare outcomes
  • Preference will be given to multi-center studies

The funding is open to individuals and interdisciplinary teams working across laboratory medicine and clinical care. Applications are welcomed from clinical laboratory organisations, universities and academic institutions, healthcare facilities, research institutes, NGOs, private sector companies and other eligible organisations.
