LabMed welcomes new leadership appointments
We are pleased to announce two new appointments to key leadership roles within the organisation.
Ravinder Sodi has been appointed Director of Publications & Communications.
Ravinder is a Consultant Clinical Biochemist and Head of Department at Broomfield Hospital, where he oversees Point-of-Care Testing (POCT), FIT screening for colorectal cancer, and maternal screening for foetal anomalies. He also serves as Consultant Clinical Biochemist and Lead for Innovation at Unilabs Ltd, London, and is Founder and Director of Quantum Healthcare Consultants Ltd.
With extensive experience across clinical practice, academia, and publishing, Ravinder previously served as Deputy Editor for the Annals of Clinical Biochemistry and as a Council Member of the Royal College of Pathologists. His research interests include home self-testing, cancer screening, tumour markers, AI in medicine, and vitamins in health and disease.
As Director of Publications & Communications, Ravinder aims to strengthen LabMed’s publishing portfolio, expand its international collaborations, and enhance the Association’s impact through innovative digital and social media engagement.
Azul Zorzoli has been appointed Chair of the Trainees’ Committee.
Azul is an HCPC-registered Clinical Scientist in Microbiology and Virology, currently working towards HSST equivalency. Her training spans Biochemistry, Immunology, and Microbiology across Argentina, the USA, and Scotland.
A committed advocate for trainee development, Azul has led educational initiatives, contributed to RCPath examination discussions, and championed professional representation for early-career scientists. As Chair, she plans to focus on strengthening collaboration across LabMed groups and ensuring trainees’ voices are central to the Association’s future direction.
