ACB member Jo Martin receives CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours
We're pleased to extend our congratulation to Jo Martin - who is the Deputy Vice Principal (Health) and a Professor of Pathology at Queen Mary University, as well as former President of the Royal College of Pathologists and an active ACB member - for receiving a CBE in the 2022 Queen's Birthday Honours.
With vast experience including work as a practicing histopathologist specialising in neuromuscular disease of the gut and research including the identification of new models of motor neuron degeneration, she has been rightfully recognised for her services to the NHS and Medical Education.
As relayed by Queen Mary University, Jo Martin said regarding her CBE: “I am incredibly humbled and honoured to receive this recognition. I have worked with so many wonderful colleagues at Queen Mary and the NHS over the years – and I would not be in this position without all their support and guidance along the way."
The CBE is awarded for a prominent national role of a lesser degree, a conspicuous leading role in regional affairs through achievement or service to the community, or a highly distinguished, innovative contribution in their area of activity.
