Apply now for the IFCC Professional Exchange Programmes

LabMed members now have the chance to apply for a limited number of prestigious IFCC Professional Exchange Programme (PEP) awards—an exceptional opportunity to broaden your skills, gain international experience, and bring valuable expertise back to your laboratory.

The IFCC PEP supports both young scientists and established laboratory professionals to undertake 1–3 month training placements at clinical laboratory centres or IVD facilities around the world. These short-term exchanges are designed to strengthen global collaboration, share high-level scientific and management skills, and introduce new methods and knowledge into your home laboratory.

Two programme streams are available:

  1. Professional Scientific Exchange Programme (PSEP): for developing or exchanging advanced scientific skills.
  2. Professional Management Exchange Programme (PMEP): for building quality management expertise to enhance service performance.


Applicants must be members of an IFCC Full or Affiliate Member national society—LabMed members meet this requirement—and must have a defined project, plus written support from their department, chosen host laboratory, and national society.

Successful applicants will receive:

  • Economy return travel costs, and
  • CHF 1,500 per month for subsistence (1–3 months).

A list of willing host laboratories is available, and applicants may also propose alternative hosts with prior approval.
