The webinar will develop greater awareness of the factors that contribute to trainees' mental health, helping attendees recognise how these can affect themselves and those around them.
Jo will cover how trainees' wellbeing is affected by the demands of training and balancing clinical responsibilities with professional development alongside life outside of work. This will provide an opportunity to reflect on the different factors that can affect wellbeing and consider how they can be managed and supported.
A range of suggestions and resources will be provided on what can be done as trainees, trainers and colleagues to support the mental health and wellbeing of ourselves and others, giving attendees practical ways to support their own wellbeing and those around them.
Learning objectives:
- Develop awareness and understanding of how to support our own mental health and wellbeing, as well as that of others.
- Identify resources available to support mental health and wellbeing
Microbiology webinars for trainees
Following feedback from members, we are trying a new format for delivering training this year, replacing the in-person Microbiology training day at LabMedUK with free monthly webinars. The topics have been suggested by members and are delivered by senior clinical scientists and colleagues. In the final webinar of the year, trainees have the opportunity to present recent audits.
