FCS Training Session - The Role of a Rep
FCS Training Session - The Role of a Rep
The Federation of Clinical Scientists is hosting a series of virtual training sessions to equip our local trade union representatives, as well as our Members and Federation members, with practical information related to workplace-related topics.
The next session focuses on The Role of a Rep and will take place on Tuesday 30 May 2023, 10.30 - 11.30am, via MS Teams.
This training is suitable for FCS Reps and Members looking to become an FCS Rep.
The role of the workplace representative is a vital role to good employment relations and ensuring members’ voices, individually and collectively, are heard. It’s vital that representatives have time to fulfil their roles and understand their rights and entitlements to do so. This session aims to introduce participants to the role of a steward, time off and facilities and identify barriers & solutions to them being able to carry out their role.
Participants will learn about:
Job and role of steward
- Workplace wins
- Rights to times off and facilities
- Most effective communication methods
We’ll also have a preliminary overview of the representatives’ role in disciplinary and grievance processes, ahead of the next training session, which will continue with training to support our FCS reps in their roles
The deadline for registration is noon on Monday 29 May 2023. The training is free to attend, but spaces may be limited, so book your place now!
