New Learning Academy platform is coming

LabMed Learning Academy is moving to a new digital platform, offering a more accessible, interactive and practical learning experience tailored to the needs of laboratory medicine professionals. The new platform will provide on-the-go access to learning materials and allow users to track their progress at an individual pace.

The new platform will launch at the end of March, but to ensure uninterupted learning our members will still be able to access thier existing Learning Academy profile until 31 March. More information about the platform transition will be provided in early March to ensure smooth transition so it is best to keep a look out for an emails.

 

Why the platform is moving?

The Learning Academy is updating to provide modern and flexible learning experience, including:

  • Improved navigation and interactive courses, making it easier to engage with complex material
  • Community space for peer discussion and knowledge sharing
  • Mobile-friedly access, allowing on the go learning to fit around your working day
  • Certification to recognise your learning achievements
  • An expanding library of content including the latest developments and best practice in laboratory medicine

At the point of the launch, professionals will have immediate access to four new modules covering UKAS Assessment, Point-of-Care Testing, Sustainability, and Effective Research. In addition, the platform will include ten clinical cases designed to support practical learning and reflective practice.

 

Further developments of the platform

Learning Academy will continuously expand to meet evolving needs of of laboratory medicine professions, including:

  • Additional training modules covering professional development, labolatory skills and management
  • A digital relaunch of Clinical Cases in Laboratory Medicine
  • Live training sessions and supplementary learning resources to further support skill development
 

The new Learning Academy will be available to all laboratory professionals, and we are committed to making its resources accessible and easy to use. A selection of materials will be openly available, while the full range of modules, clinical cases, and educational content will be offered as part of membership with the Association for Laboratory Medicine. To make full use of the Academy and benefit from the complete range of learning opportunities, we encourage colleagues to consider membership and take advantage of the full range of educational support available.
