Got a brilliant idea for 2027?
We have space in the diary for two hot topic national meetings in 2027 and we’d like you to help choose what they’re about.
Hot topic national meetings are one-day meetings that bring members together on a subject that’s high on the agenda in laboratory medicine. A format that works well is a series of expert speakers giving updates on their latest work or sharing case studies, followed by a panel discussion on what needs to happen next. This year we’ve run two:
- The digital landscape in laboratory medicine: current systems, future possibilities (Leeds, 30 April 2026)
- Enabling patient-centred sampling: total laboratory automation (Liverpool, 30 September 2026)
What should the profession be talking about in 2027?
To put forward an idea, send us:
- a working title
- a short description of the topic and why it needs discussing now
- suggested speakers (optional)
The Conference and Events Committee will review every idea we receive. If yours is selected, we’ll ask you to help convene the programme with the committee and the events team. We may combine similar ideas or ask you to adapt yours, so don’t worry if it’s still rough around the edges. Please don’t approach any speakers until we’ve been in touch.
