Regional Education Bursary
Please note: The current round of bursary applications will close on 15 April 2025. You will be notified by 21 April 2025.
Regional Education Bursaries are awarded by regional committees to attend scientific meetings or specialist training courses. They are not intended to fund basic training. Please apply to your region before applying for a national bursary. Priority will be given to members who have not received a bursary in the last two years.
The bursary of up to £500 can be used to cover whole or in part expenses for travel, registration and anything that enables access for example additional caring costs associated with attending a meeting or course. When using a bursary to cover travel costs, every effort should be made to book as far in advance as possible in order to take advantage of the lowest prices.
The bursary can be used in conjunction with other funding sources including the Association’s national bursaries that are awarded by the Education, Training and Workforce Committee. However you can only receive one award for the same claimed items (eg. the same travel expense cannot be claimed on both a regional bursary plus a bursary from another awarding body such as RCPath, RBS, etc).
All applications are reviewed by the relevant regional Chair and a group of regional committee members. If you are successful we will ask you to write a short report for publication about the meeting or course you attended.
