Trainees representative (East of England)
Becoming a Trainee Rep is a fantastic opportunity to get more involved with the Association for Laboratory Medicine (LabMed) and to help represent the trainee community within the region. It’s also an exciting time to join, with lots of positive changes within LabMed on the horizon.
As a Trainee Representative, you would sit on both the LabMed Southern Region Committee (which usually meets around three or four times a year) and the LabMed Trainees Committee (which meets roughly twice a year). The main responsibilities are to act as a link between trainees in your region and the LabMed, to pass on information and updates, and to feed back any trainee views, progress, or issues. There are also opportunities to feature in the LabMed News publication, and help run events.
The role is a great chance to meet a wide range of people across the profession and gain insight into what’s happening behind the scenes at LabMed and the Royal College of Pathologists. You also tend to be among the first to hear about new opportunities and developments, which makes it a really engaging and rewarding role.
