Become a LabMed Trade Union Regional Representative

Shape your profession. Strengthen your career.
We’re looking for new LabMed Trade Union regional representatives across the UK.

The Association for Laboratory Medicine’s Trade Union is run by Clinical Scientists, for Clinical Scientists. All qualifying Members automatically belong to the Trade Union, which has full national recognition and negotiating rights across the NHS, UKHSA and NHS Blood and Transplant.

Our reps are practising Clinical Scientists who understand members’ issues because they face them too. They are supported by an experienced network of regional and group officers (including microbiology, genetics and trainees) and by professional legal services with a proven track record up to Employment Tribunal level.

What does a LabMed regional rep do?

LabMed regional reps play a vital role by:

  • Helping shape discussions around staffing, safety, equality, banding and service changes
  • Feeding real frontline experience into collective negotiations
  • Encouraging colleagues to stay informed and involved in Trade Union activity

You’ll always have training and support — you are never expected to do this alone.
