LabMed Scotland audit group

The Laboratory Medicine Scotland audit group is seeking volunteers for two new roles within the committee- a trainee representative and a medic representative. Successful candidates would be expected to:

  • Attend our meetings which take place 3 times a year (Spring, Summer and Autumn) via MS Teams
  • Assist the existing group members to review draft questionnaires and reports
  • Suggest audit topics
  • Undertake audits (generally no more than 1 every few years) and be willing to disseminate results

We’re a friendly bunch with an active audit schedule who regularly present their findings at conferences and influence regional practice. Upcoming audits include ALP and hypophosphatasia as well as uncertainty of measurement. These new roles present an excellent opportunity to gain experience of quality improvement and auditing laboratory practice with the support of a great team.

By now I’ve hopefully convinced you to apply! If so please complete the relevant form below with your name, email address and a short supporting statement by 21 May 2025.

Please note that the trainee representative role will be for a 2 year term (or less if closer to completion of training) for fairness. Nominations are not required. If there is more than one applicant for each role, the existing committee will conduct an anonymised vote to select the successful candidate. Any questions can be emailed to Emma Hughes ([email protected]).

Closing date for applications: 21 May 2025
