Deputy Workforce Lead
Purpose of the role
The deputy workforce lead is a position on the Education and Training Committee. The purpose of the role is to track workforce data to address issues affecting clinical scientists and medical practitioners. This data is used to support lobbying efforts, improve recruitment strategies, and shape workforce structures to meet the future needs of the NHS. The deputy workforce lead reports to the workforce lead.
Responsibilities of the role
- Coordinate workforce surveys with the LabMed staff team to gather data and create reports that support LabMed’s goals
- Work with Pathology Alliance members to model future workforce needs and available trained staff
- Answer questions about workforce numbers
- Review and respond to documents related to workforce data
- Deputise for the workforce lead as required.
Person specification
Essential
- Member of the Association for Laboratory Medicine
- HCPC or GMC registration
- Obtained FRCPath part 1
- Share Association for Laboratory Medicine values
Desirable
- Obtained full FRCPath
Time commitment
- Two meetings of the Education and Training Committee each year (1 in person, 1 online)
- Quarterly Pathology Alliance Workforce meetings (online)
- Ad hoc task and finish group meetings.
