The Microbiology Professional Committee (MPC) Group brings together professionals working across clinical microbiology to shape practice, share expertise and influence the future of the field.
We represent microbiology within national conversations, working with organisations such as the Department of Health and the Royal College of Pathologists to ensure the voice of the profession is heard. Our work builds on a long-standing legacy of supporting clinical microbiologists in their roles across diagnostic, reference and research services.
Alongside this, the MPC leads activity that directly supports the workforce. This includes contributing to training and professional development, supporting routes to registration, and delivering scientific meetings and events that are open to the wider laboratory medicine community.
