Azul Zorzoli

Azul trained as a Biochemist in Argentina, followed by a Master of Sciences in Microbiology and Immunology in Chicago, USA. She completed her PhD in Molecular Microbiology at the University of Dundee, in Scotland, where she studied the cell wall biosynthesis of Group A Streptococcus. Azul joined NHS Lothian as a clinical scientist trainee in 2020 and obtained HCPC registration in January 2024. Her research interests include novel diagnostic techniques, outbreak investigation and whole-genome sequencing.
