This symposia is being reserved to allow the top winning sites to present their scientific findings and outcomes. Katharine Hayden
Kath Hayden is a Consultant Clinical Biochemist at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester.
Following training in South Manchester, Kath has held posts in hospitals in Manchester and Liverpool over a 35 year period, overseeing significant advances in analytical technologies, point of care testing (POCT) and harmonisation of laboratories. With specialist interests in endocrinology, POCT, leadership and service improvement, her latest roles have been as Clinical Head of Division for Laboratory Medicine at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Trust Lead Healthcare Scientist, Clinical Director for Laboratory Medicine and Head of Service for Clinical Biochemistry at Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Tricia Ravalico
Tricia Ravalico is founder and executive lead of the UNIVANTS of Healthcare Excellence Program, a prestigious global award program that was developed to recognize, amplify and inspire best practices in healthcare transformation. She also leads Global Scientific Leadership at Abbott with responsibilities that include cultivation of scientific partnerships, collaborations, and the development of global education strategies across congresses and healthcare disciplines.
Tricia serves on the Executive Board of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC), is also a liaison to the IFCC Task Force for Corporate Members where she has also served as chair for 4 years. She was formerly a board member of the IFCC Publications and Communications Division for 6 years, and has actively supported multiple IFCC programs for over a decade including the IFCC Committee for the Clinical Application of Cardiac Bio-Markers (CCB).
Over the course of her 28-year career in core diagnostics, she has held multiple leadership positions in Research and Development, Scientific Affairs, Medical Affairs, Global Marketing and Education.

Pilar Gonzalez Romero
Pilar María González Romero is a specialist in Family and Community Medicine with 20 years of experience in the Emergency Department at Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, where she serves as Clinical Unit Head, focusing on training and innovation. She earned her PhD Cum Laude in 2016. A professor at the University of La Laguna since 2019, she holds master’s degrees and expert certifications in emergency medicine, critical care, and clinical management. She has published scientific articles and book chapters, with her latest article focusing on the use of biomarkers in the management of mild traumatic brain injury. Passionate about medicine, she strives to enhance patient care through knowledge and continuous improvement.

Maria Concepción Masip
With over 35 years of experience, María Concepción Masip has excelled in the fields of clinical biochemistry and medicine. A Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of La Laguna, she specialized in clinical biochemistry at the University Hospital of Canarias, where she became Head of Section in the Biochemistry Department, leading key research on metabolic disorders. Over the years, she has combined clinical practice with teaching, supervising residents, and contributing extensively to scientific literature. Her most recent work, an article on traumatic brain injuries, explores the metabolic effects of these injuries. Her passion for knowledge led her to earn a second Ph.D. in Art History, firmly believing that medicine and art go hand in hand. “A doctor who knows only medicine knows nothing of medicine”—a philosophy that has shaped her entire career.

Nobuharu Tamaki
Dr. Nobuharu Tamaki is the Associate Director of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Musashino Red Cross Hospital in Tokyo, Japan. With over 20 years of experience as a physician, he earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Medicine at Yamanashi University. Dr. Nobuharu Tamaki specializes in the treatment of hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma and conducts clinical research focusing on viral hepatitis, steatotic liver disease, and hepatocellular carcinoma. He has published more than 150 papers to date, including in prestigious journals.

Maki Furuya
Maki Furuya is a clinical laboratory technician at Musashino Red Cross Hospital in Tokyo, where she specializes in biochemistry within the clinical laboratory department. In addition to her laboratory duties, she actively contributes to hepatitis awareness initiatives. She is also dedicated to supporting the care of diabetes patients, using her expertise to engage in collaborative, multidisciplinary efforts.

Vincent Sapin
Vincent Sapin is a clinical biologist and the head of the Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics Department at the University Hospital of Clermont-Ferrand. He is Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the School of Medicine (Université Clermont Auvergne). He is head of the research team "Translational approaches of epithelial injury and repair" at the Institut "Genetic, Reproduction and Development". His research focuses on the development of pathophysiology and biomarkers related to mild traumatic brain injury, premature rupture of membranes and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
